Ambion™ RNAsecure (patent pending) is a A unique non-enzymatic reagent that irreversibly inactivates RNase in solution. Available in 10 mL format.
• No need for post-processing autoclaving
• Safe, easy-to-use reagent inactivates RNase in solution
• Inactivation process can be repeated to prevent newly introduced contaminants
• Compatible with downstream procedures Compatible with applications such as RT-PCR and In vitrotranscription
• Incorporate RNase in Tris and other reagents used for RNA isolation and analysis that cannot be treated with DEPC RNase contamination Inactivation of RNase in solution can lead to experimental inconsistencies or, in worst cases, experimental failure. Traditionally, DEPC has been used to treat solutions that come into contact with RNA. DEPC treatment is time-consuming, potentially harmful, and only removes the RNase present at the time of DEPC treatment. In addition, some solutions (such as primary amino acids containing compounds such as Tris) cannot be treated with DEPC at all. Finally, DEPC must be inactivated by autoclaving after processing to prevent it from interfering with downstream enzymatic reactions. RNAsecure reagent eliminates these problems. Unlike DEPC, RNAsecure can be used in virtually any solution and does not require post-processing autoclaving. A unique feature of RNAsecure is that reheating after initial treatment will reactivate the RNase eliminator to eliminate any new contaminants. RNAsecure is supplied as a 25X concentrate. Before adding the enzyme, it is added to the reaction solution (In vitrotranscription, RT-PCR, etc.) and heated to 60°C for 10 minutes to inactivate RNase.
